Report of the Library Advisory Committee for April 2002

The Committee met on 1 April 2002. Present: Christina Martinez (Library), Mary Hagedorn (Beth El), Catherine Kelly (Education), Rita Hug (Library), David Weiss (LAS-SCI), Leslie Manning (Library), Lesley Ginsberg (LAS-HUM).

The Committee needs to have the proposed Collection Philosophy approved by the Representative Faculty Assembly so that we may move forward with the larger project of revising our current allocation formula for journals & periodicals. Lesley Ginsberg will submit to Connie Pendleton so that the document will be on the agenda of the next Rep. Fac. Assembly meeting.

Sue Byerley and Mary Beth Chambers of the Library are working on a survey to be distributed to faculty in Fall 2002. The results of the survey will be used to gather data applicable to a future revision of the allocation formula. At the Library Advisory Committee’s final meeting of the semester, (Monday 6 May 2002) committee members will generate questions for use on the survey.
