Report: Women’s Faculty Committee

February 2001

In January, the committee helped to sponsor a talk Wed. Jan. 31 titled "The

Status of Colorado’s Women and Girls" (co-sponsored by the Colorado

Women’s Foundation and the Women’s Studies Program). We will cosponsor several additional events in March in conjunction with Women’s

History Month:

• Thursday, March 1, Prof. Christina Jimenez, Department of History, will lead a Brown Bag Forum on "Issues of Identity, Race and Ethnicity in the Classroom," 12:15-1:30 p.m., University Center 124.

• Monday, March 5th, women’s historian Linda Kerber will provide Our Women’s History Month Lecture on Women, Citizenship and Violence, from 12:15-1:45, Breckenridge 5101, and a faculty workshop from 3:004:30 in Columbine fourth floor conference room

• Two Faculty Lectures March 7

1) Women’s History Month Faculty Lectureship will be presented by Dr. Radha Pyati, Department of Chemistry, 12:15-1:45, CoH 324, recognizing women in the sciences.

    1. Women’s History Month Faculty Lectureship will be presented by Dr. Debra Dew, Department of English and Director of Writing Programs, 4:30 p.m., Dwire Hall 305 titled "The Recovery of Women’s Contributions to Theory."
