Salary Oversight

Members of salary oversight examined a regression based method developed by Steve Chambers of Institutional Research to distribute $33,000 in adjustments to non tenure track faculty and $67,000 in adjustments to tenure track faculty. The methodology essentially looked at where faculty should be based on years of service and norms from the University of Oklahoma study of land grant colleges. Faculty that fell the farthest below their predicted salaries were targeted for compression adjustments. The formula, while imperfect, was judged as satisfactory for tenure track faculty, but might be questionable for NTT faculty. As of Friday, May 4th, the only principle agreed on by Professors Malone, Morley, and VCAA Pierce for distribution of NTT adjustments was that no full time instructor should make less than $21,000.
