Other campuses having similar problems.

Could be solved at presidents level.
Faculty Council
- Metro issues dead. State mandated core curriculum (HB-1263) greatly modified. Funding issues will likely drag it down. Balance of power at state level has been somewhat helpful to the University. Snow yesterday limited participation.
Leonard Denniger
State revenues will be somewhat constrained by economic downturns. True in many states this year.
Faculty council is working on revising its Constitution & Bylaws.
UCB faculty assembly is continuing to explore collective bargaining. We could share some of their presenters if desired.
Recommended a draft motion concerning salaries be considered by the System Budget committee. Basically recommends that 85% of total faculty salary pool be allocated in a collegial process by primary units. Designed to limit "skims". Relates to issues being considered by our Personnel & Benefits committees.
