System EPUS
System EPUS is in the process of
writing the Copyright and Educational Materials sections of the Intellectual Property
document. Drafts, will protect faculty, staff, and student rights consistent with long
term traditions. Drafts will be on line soon. A campus forum will be held.
Salary Compression
We will continue to work on this
for the coming year. Over $250,000 annually
has been added to address this problem with both tenure track and nontenure track faculty. UBAC tentatively has $100,000 in the budget
for next year. I would like to see this
amount increased and/or continued in coming years with increased attention to problems of
NTTF.

And, according to the Rules of
the Regents III.D The Search Committee, A (page 1-6 of the printed Faculty

for the Office of President or Chancellor shall adopt a procedure that ensures that
nominees for committee membership will be forwarded to the appropriate administrator

Issues raised by faculty
members in response to my e-mail request:
ü Do we have the same number
of weeks/hours per semester as other campuses?
ü Did campus administrators
receive, bonuses over the past year?
ü Are we adequately rewarding
service as part of faculty evaluation? Could this be an issue for the Salary
Oversight committee?
ü What are we doing to create
an energy and water conservation policy or procedures for the campus?
ü Is it possible that faculty
could be paid a stipend for independent study courses, particularly if taught in the
summer.
ü Should we pursue better/more
systematic arrangements for Early Retirement
