Awards for No-Need Work Study will be available to students of UCCS
for the Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 semesters. Eligibility for these
awards is not based on financial need. Recipients must be undergraduates
and Colorado residents for tuition purposes (excluding
those who are granted resident tuition by virtue of being military,
military dependents or Olympic athletes). Students must be at least
half-time (6 credit hours) and accepted for degree status.
Recipients must be making satisfactory progress toward the completion
of their degree. (See the UCCS Policy on Satisfactory Progress for
complete information.) Recipients must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent
Residents. Priority will be given to those students working on their
first undergraduate degree. Applicants who are pursuing a second undergraduate
degree will be considered only after all first undergraduate applicants
have been awarded and if funds are still available. Awards will not
be given to students who already have other work study awards.
Each applicant for a No-Need Work Study award must submit a completed
UCCS Application for No Need Work-Study. Applications are
available on this webpage. The applications need to be turned in
to the Office of Financial Aid/Student Employment located in Cragmor
Hall Room 201 by Friday, August 29, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. Late applications
will not be accepted. This is the application deadline for both
the Fall and Spring terms.
The awards will be made on a computerized random selection
process based on the student's Student ID number. Award amounts will
range from $750 to $2000 per semester. Students will request
the amount of the award they want on the application. All applicants
will be notified whether or not they receive a No Need Work
Study award for both fall and spring terms by September 15, 2008.
Those students who do receive an award must officially accept the award
using the Office of Financial Aid/Student Employment Award Letter. Recipients
will use SEAN'S
Place
(Student Employment Assistance Network) for referrals to on and/or off
campus work-study positions. Upon getting hired for a work-study job,
students will come into the Office of Financial Aid/Student Employment
for employment paperwork/referral cards.
Please call the Office of Financial Aid/Student Employment at 262-3460
if you have any questions regarding No-Need Work Study awards.
