First to diagnose and publish peer reviewed research findings about chronic brain damage in NFL players

Findings also were concurrent in military veterans diagnosed with PTSD, as well as other professional athletes

The Office of Student Activities, as well as Residence Life and Housing, are excited to announce that tickets are NOW ON SALE for the 2016 UCCS Significant Speaker event, featuring Dr. Bennet Omalu, renowned doctor who discovered Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) in nine deceased National Football League (NFL) players. Dr. Omalu is also the real life character portrayed by Will Smtih in this winter's box office hit Concussion. He will be speaking on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 in the Gallogly Events Center.

Early bird advanced tickets sales will begin TODAY (Monday, February 8th at the University Center Information Desk). Tickets will be $2 for all UCCS students, UCCS faculty/staff and Military. Please note there is no limit on ticket sales, so you may purchase as many as you like.Tickets for non-UCCS individuals and community members will be $5. Ticket prices will increase once April arrives, so purchase your tickets TODAY!!!
