How I Became a Believer:
Growing up I attended church on Sundays,
but left unsatisfied. So, during High School, "being good"
lost it's attractiveness. My junior year of high school I made
poor decisions as I placed vanity, popularity, and relationships
as my purpose and top priorities in life. Those three things never
seemed to satisfy my longing to be accepted and loved. In fact,
they left me exhausted, empty and unhappy. Then God placed a mentor
in my life who showed me that filling our lives with things other
than God would constantly leave us wanting. The solution? Jesus.
As we read the Bible I discovered that Jesus loves me, accepts
me no matter what, and satisfies me completely.
How I met The Navigators:
At Florida State University. My best
friend's mom said we should check them out. I went to a "Nav
Night" and then took off white water rafting with them! I
wasn't sold on this Navigator stuff until Vanessa, an EDGE staff,
asked if I wanted to meet together each week and read the Bible.
Thinking I'd rather wash my hair, I gave it a try. Vanessa listened
to me, challenged me, and helped me grow as a believer in Christ
as we explored God's Word. After being impacted by Vanessa, and
making some incredible friends through The Navigators, I decided
to stick around for awhile.
My Favorite Ministry Aspect:
Reading the Bible with people. God's
word is living and active and changes people's lives! I also love
Navigator BBQs. . . we should have one at least twice a week.
. . who's with me?
A Fun Fact about Me:
I love to laugh. The greatest part
about this? Everyone has the chance to fulfill their dreams of
being a comedian because there's a 99% chance I'll think you are
hilarious. (Sorry for those 1 percenters.) I also really like
cheese.
