Online Gerontology Certificate Program

This online program is equivalent to the Gerontology Minor offered at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. The following four courses comprise the core of the certificate:

These four courses are offered in online format, utilizing the eCollege™ platform. Each online course earns three (3) credit hours and costs $615. The certificate is earned by completing twenty-one (21) credit hours in gerontology-related coursework with grades of 2.0 or above. In addition to the four online core courses, students must complete a three-credit-hour field experience course in their local communities and six (6) elective credit hours (which may be completed at the student's home institution). The Gerontology Center must approve the field experience course and the elective hours.

Students who complete the program will be awarded an Academic Certificate in Gerontology. As an undergraduate Extended Studies program, this program does not require a formal admissions procedure. Students need not submit transcripts. If you intend to complete the full program and earn the certification, please download and print a copy of the Intent of Program Completion Form, complete Part I (minus UCCS Student ID-leave this blank), and return this form by fax to LAS Extended Studies at (719) 262-4200. Returning this form does not obligate you to complete the entire certificate, nor does it constitute a registration for any individual course. This form simply serves as our method of tracking your progress in the program.
