Parking

Fall 2008 Residential Student
Parking Information

General Information

For most parking lots, A VALID PERMIT MUST BE DISPLAYED ON YOUR VEHICLE BY THE FIRST DAY OF CLASSES, August 25, 2008.  There is NO "grace period."  Tickets WILL be written for violations the first day of the semester.  Please read the following information regarding parking options.  Owning a permit, without displaying the permit, will result in a ticket.  Permits sold are valid for the Fall semester only and will expire December 20, 2008 (unless explicitly stated otherwise).

Cars violating parking regulations will be subject to ticket and/or tow.  Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis.  Purchasing a permit entitles you to park in certain parking lots on campus.  YOU ARE NOT PURCHASING A RESERVED PARKING SPACE.  Students should direct all inquiries concerning parking/traffic to Parking Services at 719-255-3528.

Permit Restricted Parking Options

Resident Permit

(Valid in Parking Lot 9 and Lot N and level 5 of the Parking Garage only.  Lot N is located at 3955 Cragwood Road).  This permit is available to Housing Residents only.  Beginning this fall (2008), you no longer have to reserve your parking permit on line.  You will receive your Academic Year permit during your check-in at Housing.

Friday Only Permit

(Valid in HUB permit areas on Fridays only).

Motorcycle Permit

Valid in designated Motorcycle Parking.  Motorcycles MAY NOT BE PARKED IN REGULAR SPACES, except in visitor parking on the third level of the parking garage.  All Housing Residents are entitled to receive one motorcycle permit at no cost.

Student Safety and Transportation Fee

All students are automatically charged a Safety and Transportation fee.  This fee is not a parking fee and is not used for parking facilities.  This fee is used to provide enhanced police services and shuttle services from far parking lots to the campus.

Transportation Services

University Hall (Lot N), Four Diamonds Sports Complex, and the Housing Village are serviced by a transportation system.  The Four Diamonds shuttle runs fall, spring, and summer semesters only from 7:05 a.m. to 10:35 p.m. Monday-Friday.  If you plan to park at the Four Diamonds, please see the schedule.  Due to increased demand on this system, students parking at the Four Diamonds should anticipate arriving 30 minutes prior to the start of their first class.

Students riding the Four Diamonds shuttle bus will be required to show a valid Student I.D. when boarding the bus.

Overnight parking (12 a.m. - 6 a.m.) at the Four Diamonds area is prohibited.

Service to University Hall and the Housing Village:  For detailed information on service, see our online schedule.

Paying Fees and Purchasing a Permit

The Safety and Transportation fee is billed directly to the student's account.
