Fall 2008 Faculty/Staff Parking Information

General Information

For most parking lots, A VALID PERMIT MUST BE DISPLAYED ON YOUR VEHICLE BY THE FIRST DAY OF CLASSES, August 25, 2008.  There is NO "grace period."  Tickets WILL be written for violations the first day of the semester.  Please read the following for information regarding parking options.  Owning a permit, without displaying the permit, will result in a ticket.  Fall 2008 semester permits expire December 20, 2008 (unless explicitly stated otherwise).

Only faculty and staff at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs may purchase a faculty/staff permit.  Students, including graduate students teaching classes at the university are not eligible to purchase a faculty/staff permit.  Faculty/staff may purchase only ONE parking permit.

Parking regulations apply equitably to students, faculty, staff, administrators and visitors.

Cars violating parking regulations will be subject to ticket and/or tow. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis.  Purchasing a permit entitles you to park in certain parking lots on campus.  YOU ARE NOT PURCHASING A RESERVED PARKING SPACE.  Faculty, staff, students, administrators, and visitors should direct all inquiries concerning parking and traffic issues to Parking Services at 719-255-3528.

Purchasing Your Permit

Permits must be paid for at the time the permit is picked up.  The only exception is yearly permits being paid for through payroll deduction.  The Parking Office accepts personal checks, cash, MasterCard, and VISA.

Refunds

Faculty and staff may return their Fall 2008 permit for a full refund through September 11, 2008.

Annual permits may be returned at any time and a pro-rated refund will be given based on the number of months remaining on the permit.  Annual permits on a payroll deduction form must be returned anytime a faculty or staff member resigns from the university.  The payroll deduction may be stopped ONLY upon return of the permit.  In order to stop a payroll deduction, the permit must be returned by the fifteenth (15) day of the month prior to the next deduction.  Faculty and staff who have elected payroll deduction are responsible for the entire amount of an annual permit, whether or not they use the permit for a given semester, unless they return the permit PRIOR to the beginning of the semester.
