Welcome to the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Department of Public Safety Home Page.

The Department of Public Safety is comprised of Police Operations, Risk Management, Transportation and Traffic Management, Parking Services, Photographic Identification and Environmental Safety.

DPS was created as a result of authority legislated to the Regents of the University by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado.  This authority includes the responsibility to protect the lives and property of everyone on or around university property.

I am pleased that the University of Colorado has provided this department the opportunity to utilize this technology to provide information on the Internet.  Being a part of this project is exciting because we are using this technology to bridge communication gaps and forge new alliances through this vast and expanding cyber community.

The existence of this page signifies an important step in our department's growth and development.  The Internet's flexibility gives us an opportunity to present information on our campus and explain our services in a user-friendly format.  You now have the capability to explore the Department of Public Safety with the flick of a keystroke or push of a button.
